Santigold Employs Shadow Puppets for "Banshee" Video
Santigold assumes puppet form for her latest.

Following up releases such as March’s Jay Z and Pharrell-assisted clip for “Can’t Get Enough of Myself,” Santigold returns with another new visual. Once again turning to her most recent studio album 99¢, Santigold serves up a video for LP single “Banshee.” Directed by Ari Marcopoulos, Santigold’s latest vignette revolves around shadow puppets of herself and artist Kara Walker. Walker is the one responsible for the shadow puppets’ construction, explaining to The New York Times:
I have made shadow puppet videos before, but I’ve never made a puppet that was a portrait of someone (besides myself)… It’s been a few years now, but the last video I made shows one puppet being tortured and set on fire — so this video is a bit more cheerful.”
