Hip Hop and Rap are Ruling Apple Music's Beats 1 Airwaves

Apple Music‘s Beats 1 launched just over a month ago and the raw data is out. The news outlet Quartz pulled together everything being played on the round-the-clock radio with shows hosted by the likes of Zane Lowe, Josh Homme, St. Vincent, Dr. Dre, and Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig and for the first month found that hip hop/rap is the most played genre, closely followed by alternative music. The Weeknd, Drake and Disclosure are the top three, most played artists followed by Jamie xx, A$AP Rocky, Tame Impala and Years and Years.
