Stormzy Stops His Festival Set to Watch England Defeat Colombia in Penalties
A historical moment in football.
As the 2018 FIFA World Cup enters the quarter-final stage, football fever is reaching an all-time high. And one artist that certainly cannot hold back his passion for his team is grime artist Stormzy.
During his recent performance at the Merky Festival set in Ibiza, Stormzy stopped his set to take in the historical moment that swept all of England (and its fans all over the world) as they defeated Colombia in penalty shootouts, England’s first ever World Cup penalty shootout win. What could have turned into a mood-killing moment, soon became a night of celebrations for Stormzy and his fans. Following the final penalty scored by England’s Eric Dier, Stormzy marched around the stage before performing his 2017 Gang Signs & Prayer single, “Big For Your Boots.” Watch the moment below.
