The 2018 FIFA World Cup is shaping out to be one of the most exciting tournaments in the Beautiful Game’s history, having already been filled with surprise advancements and upsets.

One team that has captured the attention of the world is France‘s current young squad consisting of 19-year-old Kylian Mbappé, 22-year-old Presnel Kimpembe, and 25-year-old Paul Pogba who have already knocked out Argentina in the Round of 16 and Uruguay a few hours prior in first quarterfinal fixture of the tournament. As France continues on its rise at this year’s World Cup, the creatives over at VOX have taken a closer look at how and why the nation has produced so many of the best World Cup players.

The six-minute clip posted above states how France is not only producing top players for the country itself but for the rest of the world due to its football academy systems and unique immigration laws. The video also breaks down how French players have gone on to play for Togo, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Argentina, Portugal, and many other countries around the world.

Be sure to keep up with our 2018 FIFA World Cup coverage here and tune in to our Destined series featuring the likes of Dele, Suárez, Chicharito and Gabriel Jesus. France advances to the semi-finals to take on Belgium this Tuesday.
