After releasing the single “Man Don’t Dance” and the accompanying visuals earlier this summer, comedic rapper Big Shaq took the time to sit down with Genius, as part of its Verified series, to break down the meaning behind his “Man Don’t Dance” lyrics.
Produced by Fraser T Smith and Swifta Beater, “Man Don’t Dance” has already gone on to garner over 17 million views since its release. Big Shaq, whose real name is Michael Dapaah, went viral with his hit single “Mans Not Hot” which has hit over 170 million streams.
Watch the explanation video above where Big Shaq also breaks down U.K. slang. Shaq told Genius:
“You’re not really trying to get involved like that and then she trying to back it up, do a lot of stuff and she might step on your J’s. That’s your creps. UK slang. Now man’s only got a couple things that they take pride in. Their hairline and their creps. If your hairline is gone, all you got is your creps big man.”
