Rakim Debuts a New Track for NPR's 'Tiny Desk Concert' Series
Joined by a full band.

Following impressive showings from Jorja Smith and Daniel Caesar, NPR links up with NYC hip-hop legend Rakim for the latest edition of the outlet’s popular Tiny Desk Concert series.
Most notably, Rakim used his showcase as an opportunity to debut new music; joined by Adrian Younge, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Jack Waterson, David Henderson and several other talented musicians, the 50-year-old served up our first listen of a new song titled “Kings Paradise.” Rakim’s new record features production from Younge and Shaheed Muhammad, and will be used to help soundtrack the second season of Marvel’s Luke Cage series — a program that the aforementioned pair help supervise on the musical front. Besides the new song, today’s Tiny Desk Concert also includes live, band-backed renditions of “Paid In Full” and “Know the Ledge.”

Earlier this year, Eric B. and Rakim made headlines for announcing their first major tour in 25 years.
