Union Los Angeles Visits Eric Elms’ Home Studio for a Lesson on Candle Making
The Powers Supply designer discusses his overall creative process.
In honor of Powers Supply’s latest seasonal offering, Union Los Angeles thought it wise to further explore Eric Elms‘ creative process, choosing to take a closer look at the designer’s handcrafted wax figures. The L.A.-based outpost ventured out to the artist’s home-based studio to further observe how Powers Supply’s design ace crafts each Kilroy candle — from melting to molding and later sanding.
Listen in as Elms fondly recalls having to kick-off the candle-making process via stove top, as well as his fondness for creative freedom, choosing instead to bounce around from project-to-project as opposed to following a strict template for each creative venture. For those interested in picking up a Kilroy candle, each is priced at $45 USD and are now available online.
Elsewhere in the design world, IKEA and NASA team up for a space-inspired collection.
