Will Smith has recently joined social media, where he’s been dropping truth bombs left and right with little videos of him giving advice and telling stories. One such story details exactly how Smith became the lead role in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which ran for six seasons throughout the ’90s.
In the clip above, he talks about how he and DJ Jazzy Jeff‘s third album didn’t meet expectations, resulting in his money drying up. Through a string of events, however, he found himself in the home of the acclaimed Quincy Jones where Smith began an impromptu audition for a part in the show. Let’s just say the rest, is history.
