Shepard Fairey & Modernica Collaborate on Limited-Edition Side Shell Dowel Chair
A blend of classic style and Fairey’s modern art.
Modernica, Beyond the Streets and Shepard Fairey have teamed up for a new furniture collaboration. A limited-edition offering, the Side Shell Bowel dowel is being produced in a 500-item run and is decorated with graphic motifs that have become synonymous with Shepard Fairey’s signature style.
“When given the opportunity to create my own custom version of this iconic chair, I chose to use the collage and patterns that have become signature motifs in my work which showcase recognizable elements of my imagery but also appeal as a nod to classic home decor pattern design,” Fairey shares in an official statement. “I’m excited to be a part of the Beyond The Streets show and I think this collaboration exemplifies the philosophy that artwork with origins in the streets can manifest in unexpected places.”
