Hypetrak's Weekly Set - Volume 9

Last week marked a memorable week as far as Hip Hop releases is concerned. Fixtures on today’s charts Drake and Eminem unleashed their new singles off their respective forthcomings albums. Drake blessed the radio stations nationwide with his Kanye West-produced “Find Your Love” while Eminem shared his personal experience of drug rehabilitation on the Boi-1da-laced track “Not Afraid”. Besides releasing the video to “I’m Beamin’” Lupe Fiasco also unveiled his Chad Hugo-approved collaboration with famed singer Alicia Keys. Our site also had the pleasure of premiering the title track of Theophilus London’s new project I Want You which indicated one of this year’s most original mixtapes. Much to the joy of Hip Hop fans (and beyond) Jay Electronica made a return to the scene with his P.Diddy-assisted tribute to the late Notorious B.I.G..
We’ve also seen Cam’Ron and fellow Harlemite Vado joining forces with KiD CuDi as well as further album-teasers from the likes of Game, Nas and Damien Marley. As a special treat we’ve been also served a new superb freestyle stemming from Marshall Mathers and Jay-Z’s lost verse of Rick Ross’ powerful “Maybach Music 2”. Find the audible recap below.
