Sweater Beats & Icona Pop Drop Animated "Faded Away" Music Video
A 16-bit ode to the Sega Genesis.
Sweater Beats and Icona Pop‘s 16-bit-inspired “Faded Away” track now has an equally retro music video. The David Dutton-produced track sees a person in a yellow hood traversing a retro world, as the dark lyrics carry the deceptively high-energy song.
According to Beats, the song came about after a rough break-up and the heartache that ensues. The aesthetics are meant to harken back to the Sega Genesis era, back when Beats used to play Streets of Rage II, which inspired some of the visuals.
