Following on from the recent lightweight outerwear capsule, Italian label Stone Island has revealed the third installment of its ongoing Prototype Research_Series, which it first launched in 2016. The new capsule is strictly limited to 100 pieces, and is made using a mix of four polyamide-based canvas fabrics, which are then treated with a high temperature dyeing process that colors, shrinks and compacts the different layers.
The Prototype Research_Series showcases new processes from Stone Island that are not yet industrializable — hence the super limited quantities of each piece. The third annual collection from the series focuses on full jumpsuits, with two different versions unveiled at Stone Island’s recent Milan Design Week exhibition. As it stands, there is no news on when the Prototype Research_Series 03 will arrive on the Stone Island web store.
