Perched on a hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean stands the Ghat House by architecture firm, Max Núñez Arquitectos. The structure cascades down a bank — contouring to the shape of the steep slope — allowing its inhabitants to catch stunning vista views from various levels.
Although the interior remains simple in its design language, leaving decorative furnishings and ornamental accessories by the wayside, asymmetrical pillars, the slanted roof and various floating staircases help add artistic flair. Large floor-to-ceiling windows allow ample doses of natural light — granting visual access to the area’s picturesque surroundings, while the wood-grain fixtures and grey-hued walls/floors give off a rustic industrial appeal.
In other architectural news, Vietnam’s Hopper house fuses traditional design elements with contemporary flair.
