Gallant & Seal Create New Take on "Weight In Gold"
Gallant’s hit-song becomes even bigger.
This is a good look for both individuals involved. Linking up the legendary Seal, rising singer-songwriter Gallant cooks up a one-of-a-kind, unique live version of his current reigning hit-song “Weight In Gold.” Today’s take on “Weight In Gold” serves as the second entry in Gallant’s ongoing joint release series “In The Room,” which gave us a Sufjan Stevens collaboration for its inaugural drop. This new rendition on the popular single was created in just one take on February 3, when the pair of artists behind the cut linked up at Paramount Recording Studios in Los Angeles to record. Speaking on his newly-shared Seal collab, Gallant tells i-D:
“Seal was the guy that made it okay to straddle genres. He just absolutely refused to conform. Hearing his lyrics as a kid completely transformed my idea of being an artist, being honest in what you write, being black… all of it.”
