Sam Smith's "Writing's on the Wall" Wins Best Original Song at Oscars

The 88th Academy Awards just concluded, and one of the big winners of the night was Sam Smith. Smith and collaborator Jimmy Napes took home the Best Original Song award for their Spectre theme song “Writing’s on the Wall.” The record was up against J. Ralph’s “Manta Ray” (Racing Extinction), David Lang’s “Simple Song #3” (Youth), The Weeknd’s “Earned It” (Fifty Shades of Grey) and Lady Gaga’s “Til It Happens to You” (The Hunting Ground).
