Black Panther Parodies Jaden Smith’s “Icon” Video
The King of Wakanda takes center stage.
In a few short hours, Marvel‘s latest film Black Panther will make its way into U.S. theaters. To celebrate, Nerdist created a parody video of Jaden Smith’s “Icon,” swapping out The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air‘s son for the crowned super hero. In this new version of Smith’s video, the King of Wakanda takes center stage as he unleashes some dance moves all while fighting off bad guys.
The beat of the track stays the same, but the lyrics are rewritten just for T’Challa, while the video references the same lilac sunset and parked car of Jaden’s original, as well as denim jacket with red details and gold chain.
Jaden’s dad Will Smith also recreated his son’s video which can be found below. Black Panther lands in theaters today. In case you’ve missed it, watch Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o and Michael B. Jordan answer the most-searched for questions.
