The GRAMMYs Get Lowest Ratings Since 2009
Not even Kendrick Lamar’s performance was able to save it.

Many things went down at the 2016 GRAMMY Awards on Monday night. However, the Nielsen ratings fell and it became the lowest-rated telecast for the award show in six years, since 2009. This year’s show was seen by 25 million viewers and generated a 7.7 adults 18-49 rating. Although that beat everything else playing on TV at the time by far and marked the largest audience for a non-sports entertainment telecast this season, it’s still 10 percent less than last year’s ratings. In 2014, the show pulled in 28 million viewers and the largest audience came in 2012 with nearly 40 million eyes.
