Beyoncé Releases Video For Her New Single "Formation"
Produced by Mike WiLL Made-It and co-written by Rae Sremmurd’s Swae Lee.
Prior to the announcement of her upcoming uber performance with Coldplay at this year’s Super Bowl, there hasn’t been too many music-related news around Beyoncé lately. The pop icon adds one more and surprises the world with a new single, called “Formation” including music video. The clip was shot in New Orleans and features heavy Creole references, paying homage to her mother’s own Louisiana roots and calling out haters. There’s a lot going on in the four-minute visual, which offers some of her signature choreography. Bey can be seen lying on top of a New Orleans police car that’s submerged in water, while at one point, there’s a line of police officers with their hands up standing across from a wall tagged with the words “stop shooting us.” Her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, makes an appearance as well. “Formation” was produced by Mike WiLL Made-It and co-written by Rae Sremmurd’s Swae Lee. Watch it above.
