Selecting the Top 20 songs of the year is obviously a much more challenging task than choosing albums. Our top choice is Cee-Lo’s hit “Fuck You” which ruled global airwaves ever since its emergence. It is hard to imagine another song that hits the universal nerve as hard as Mr. Green’s liberating tune. Similar to our album selection, this list is based on the personal taste of our editors. Also keep in mind that Hypetrak’s best of lists-on remixes and mixtapes are also on their way. See if you agree below.

1. Cee-Lo Green – Fuck You
2. Kanye West featuring Pusha T – Runaway
3. B.o.B. featuring Bruno Mars – Nothing On You
4. Arcade Fire – We Used To Wait
5. Sade – Soldier of Love
6. Janelle Monae – Cold War
7. M.I.A. – Born Free
8. Lupe Fiasco – I’m Beamin’
9. The Roots featuring John Legend – The Fire
