Seiko Brings Back Classic Tachymeter Watch Design by Giugiaro
A 1983 original.

Seiko is reissuing a classic Giorgetto Giugiaro-designed digital tachymeter watch from 1983. Japanese retailer BEAMS is assisting in the relaunch by bringing back three iterations of the timepiece in black, gold and silver — each limited to a run of 3,000 pieces. The new model is faithful to the retro design but features a quartz movement and all-metal steel bracelet.
This isn’t the first time Seiko has teamed up with Giugiaro. Previously, the timepiece imprint and automobile designer joined forces for a range of Prospex Diver Scuba watches, as well as a Riders Chronograph watch in collaboration with White Mountaineering.
The above Giugiaro x Seiko Tachymeter watch is available for pre-order for ¥42,120 JPY (about $370 USD) at BEAMS.com.
For more timepieces, Autodromo pays homage to the Group B Era of motorsports with its new Night Stage II watch.
