Honoring the legacy of the King of Pop Epic Records and the Estate of Michael Jackson are preparing the release his highly-anticipated new album Michael, composed of previously unheard music. The official cover artwork has now been unveiled. Kadir Nelson created an impressive oil painting that highlights the most important moments and people throughout MJ’s life. The release reads:

“The creative process never stopped for the King of Pop, who was always planning for his next album; unbeknownst to many fans around the world, Michael Jackson was writing and recording songs continuously everywhere from a friend’s home in New Jersey to studios in Las Vegas and Los Angeles with a small group of handpicked collaborators.”

The ambitious project is slated for a December 14 release. A teaser will appear tomorrow on MichaelJackson.com, whereas the first single “Breaking News” – which was recorded back in 2007 – premieres Monday, November 8.
