Watch Porter Robinson & Madeon’s Anime Short Film 'Shelter'

[gallery columns="3"]Longtime fans of Porter Robinson and Madeon know that the two talented electronic music artists both have an unmatched ability to make intricately complex music that sound melodically and rhythmically cohesive. So, when the 24 and 22-year-old beat architects linked up this past summer for their first and only collaborative track “Shelter,” it was an exciting time for listeners.
Today, the duo share the song’s accompanying music video, which follows the story of a 17-year-old female named Rin. The six-minute clip is animated by A-1 Pictures with support from American anime streaming platform Crunchyroll. Watch it above and read the synopsis below. Shelter tells the story of Rin, a 17-year-old girl who lives her life inside of a futuristic simulation completely by herself in infinite, beautiful loneliness. Each day, Rin awakens in virtual reality and uses a tablet which controls the simulation to create a new, different, beautiful world for herself. Until one day, everything changes, and Rin comes to learn the true origins behind her life inside a simulation.
