Kodak Black Indicted Over Sexual Assault Allegations
The incident allegedly took place in early 2016.
Florida-born rapper Kodak Black has been officially indicted in South Carolina on charges of first degree criminal sexual conduct by a grand jury in Florence County. The alleged assault against a teenage girl took place in February 2016, when Black — real name Dieuson Octave — was in Florence, South Carolina for a performance at the Treasure City venue.
The rapper was initially extradited to Florence in November last year, immediately after his release from a Florida jail. He was subsequently released on December 1 after posting $100,000 USD bond. As it stands, no date for trial has been set, but — if found guilty — Octave could face up to 30 years in prison.
At the relatively young age of 20, Kodak Black has already spent much of his career behind bars having been sentenced to 364 days in prison for violating the terms of his house arrest in May this year.
