Jhené Aiko Releases Music Video for "Lyin King"
In celebration of the one-year anniversary of her chart topping debut album, ‘Souled Out.’
The LA-based artist celebrates the one-year anniversary her highly acclaimed debut album, Souled Out, with a visually stunning music video for “Lyin King.” Directed by TOCK and Topshelf Junior, the cinematic interpretation revolves around “a mysterious, time traveling medicine woman [who] has a prophetic vision of an early civilization in trouble.” As she stumbles upon a primitive village, she embarks on a journey to restore love to the civilization, which has been abandoned and more or less outlawed by the men of this early tribe. In a statement to FADER, Aiko reveals that the video is heavily inspired by a letter that she wrote about love and society.
