“In an era of escalating surveillance by government agencies and corporations, maharishi seek deep cover and look for inspiration in the way of the ninja — the original masters of stealth.” Here, maharishi reinterprets the functionality of its Disruptive Pattern Material garments from one of combat preparedness to contemporary utility, adding details specifically suited to today’s international traveler. Dubbed “MAHSAT Europe,” this season’s DPM motif takes cues from satellite display imagery, pairing green and red accents with a black base while integrating the British label’s own in-house “Bonsai Forest” pattern. A 21st century pointillism designed to disrupt video surveillance systems, the custom motif hits the likes of organic cotton hooded visor sweatshirts — complete with water-resistant nylon paneling, internal Swiss mesh handcuffs, and thumbholes as a nod to the ninja — and recycled bombers crafted from army surplus garments.
