Damon Albarn Speaks on New Gorillaz, Kanye, Future, Drake & More
Kanye is “really unique” and Future is “really interesting.”

Earlier in the week, we were given some updates regarding the future of Gorillaz and the act’s next musical move. Now, courtesy of Rolling Stone, we’re receiving some more bits of information regarding new music from Gorillaz. Speaking to Simon Vozick-Levinson for an expansive piece, Gorillaz co-founder and frontman Damon Albarn unveiled some new information concerning his renowned group. Albarn tells Rolling Stone that he’s “in the very early days” of putting together the next Gorillaz LP, and elaborated on the process behind the forthcoming Gorillaz record as such:
“So far, it’s really fast, and it’s got quite a lot of energy…I’ve been stuck on piano, somewhere off Broadway, for years now. I want to go somewhere completely opposite of that.”
Always outspoken, Albarn also gave his opinions on Drake, Future and Kanye. His thoughts: Kanye is “pretty unique,” Future is “really exhilarating,” and Drake is “not as consistent as he could be.” You can check out the full interview over at Rolling Stone‘s website.
