Bandai Namco has delivered the first part of its new documentary Souls and Swords: The Rise of Soul Calibur, highlighting how the epic Fighting game franchise began and its evolution throughout the decades.

In the video above, we see some developers and gaming personalities like Maximilian Dood talk about the history of the Soul Calibur, starting with Soul Edge in 1995, the cinematics the franchise is known for, and what it offered that other Fighters didn’t at the time. Check out the footage above, and buy SOULCALIBUR VI on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One when it arrives on October 19.
