A24 Introduces a Literary Mystery With 'The Vanishing of Sidney Hall'

We are only a few days into the new year and indie production house A24 has already kicked it off with a trailer for its upcoming film The Vanishing of Sidney Hall. Helmed by Academy Award-winning director Shawn Christensen, The Vanishing of Sidney Hall is a literary mystery focusing on a controversial writer (played by Logan Lerman) who finds overnight success, and then vanishes without a trace. Years later a detective (Kyle Chandler) begins an investigation into the mysterious disappearance of the author to find a connection between his books and a series of crimes.
The Vanishing of Sidney Hall also stars Michelle Monaghan, Nathan Lane, and Blake Jenner. The film will debut exclusively on DIRECTV on January 25, before A24 distributes the film in theaters on March 2.

“After publishing a bestselling novel based on the death of one of his high school classmates, the controversial writer Sidney Hall (Logan Lerman) finds himself catapulted to unexpected fame and renown. His relationship with his girlfriend (Elle Fanning) begins to fall apart as the dark consequences of the book intrude on their life together, and he disappears without a trace. Nearly a decade later, an enigmatic detective searches for the missing author, whose books are connected to a string of mysterious arsons.”
