Soon to hit the airwaves as part of Netflix’s 2018 lineup is the new eight-episode series titled Rapture. The Mass Appeal-produced program will dive deep into the lives of a select group of hip-hop heavyweights, including Nas, Dave East, T.I., Rapsody, Logic, G-Eazy, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, 2 Chainz and Just Blaze — showcasing each artist in various day-to-day scenarios.

According to a report via Deadline, viewers will be transported front row to lively concert performances, as well as see these artists grind it out on the road, while viewing real-life interactions with friends and family.

When asked to comment on the project, Sacha Jenkins, one of the show’s directors, had this to say:

“Way back, when hip-hop culture was in its gestational phase, the powerful message therein didn’t go much further than the five boroughs of New York City. Today, rap music is the heartbeat of Mother Earth, and Netflix is the embodiment of the eyes from which she sees.”
