HOKA ONE ONE Releases a Rugged and Stylish Hiking Boot
Tonal kicks with an oversized midsole.
American athletic shoe company HOKA ONE ONE has released its signature running shoe in the form of a hiking silhouette, dubbed the TOR ULTRA HI. The imprint’s flagship design is known for its bulky, “maximalist” construction and oversized midsole, which debuted in 2009 when minimalist footwear designs were at the height of their popularity.
HOKA ONE ONE’s new TOR ULTRA HI hiking boot features a leather and nylon upper made of intricate panels sporting perforated detailing and contrasting textures. The clunky, sculptural midsole boasts a blend of EVA and RMAT technology to provide premium comfort and support, specially designed midfoot geometry to offer ultimate stability and Vibram MegaGrip rubber outsoles with 5mm lugs to supply traction and durability. The high-performance model comes in two tonal colorways of tan and black, both of which are accented with subtle hints of orange at the outsole branding.
You can pick up HOKA ONE ONE’s TOR ULTRA HI hiking boot now exclusively at Japanese boutiques for a retail price of $230 USD and online stores, like COVERCHORD. For more streamlined trail shoes, check out ALYX’s hiking boots for Spring 2018.
