After making history at this year’s Emmys for winning Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and becoming the first black person to win an Emmy for Best Directing for a Comedy Series, Donald Glover is already in the beginning stages of Atlanta season 2. According to Atlanta Magazine, film crews have been spotted throughout the city as well as in East Point and Southlake Mall.
In addition, a casting website has called for very specific extras to appear on the show including “tanned” or “trashy” Caucasians, people with “high-end business attire” and “sketchy mom.” Head over to the site now to apply if you think you’ve got what it takes.
Back in August during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Glover stated, “I don’t want to go into season 2 [with the mindset of], ‘Enough people liked it so just keep those people,’ because then you begin to give your audience a methadone drip of bullshit that keeps them happy as opposed to, ‘We did something controversial and more people were interested.’” Look for Season 2 of Atlanta to premiere in 2018.
In other Donald Glover news, Childish Gambino’s “Redbone” has gone triple-platinum.
