In a brooding new editorial for the season, mastermind WORLD provides us with a closer look at the Japanese brand’s 2017 fall/winter collection. Shot by HBX, the collection of images has a distinctly industrial feel, matching the monochrome clothing seen throughout the range. mastermind’s use of skulls is a notably distinct part of the brand’s aesthetic and, this season, it’s used on a variety of goods — ranging from T-shirts to denim jackets.
The deliberately distressed collection upgrades the brand’s signature motif by embroidering it onto the reverse, while hoodies feature the slogan “for everyone who loves MASTERMIND WORLD…and for everyone else” to the front.
The brand is releasing at select retailers on August 30, and will be available at HBX. The last time mastermind WORLD dropped product was a world away from this drop, working with VITAL MATERIAL on a reed diffuser.
