Leonardo DiCaprio to Star in Upcoming Leonardo da Vinci Biopic
From one Leo to another.

In what feels like a true case of casting serendipity, one famous Leonardo looks to take on the role of another. After what has been described as an “intense” bidding war, Paramount Pictures won the rights to a new, as yet unpublished, biography of Renaissance artist and consummate allrounder Leonardo da Vinci by Steve Jobs author Walter Isaacson, with Leonardo DiCaprio set to star as his namesake and DiCaprio’s production company – Appian Way — also attached to the project.
The forthcoming da Vinci biopic marks the third of Isaacson’s books to be adapted for the screen in recent years, with Danny Boyle and Michael Fassbender having taken on Steve Jobs in movie form and National Geographic having picked up his 2007 biography – Einstein: His Life and Universe – for the TV series Genius, starring Geoffrey Rush as the titular character.
The project is also the second piece of positive DiCaprio news we’ve received recently, with the actor confirming that and he is once again working with director Martin Scorsese – the dream team is back together.
