The 2017 MTV Video Music Awards were held last night, August 27, live at The Forum in Inglewood, California. The show spotlighted videos released from last summer till the start of this summer and was hosted by Katy Perry. Lil Yachty co-hosted the pre-show with Terrence J, Charlamagne Tha God, and MTV News’s Gaby Wilson. Broadcast across various Viacom networks, Kendrick Lamar won the Video of the Year award and Ed Sheeran took home the Artist of the Year award.
