Sold for $628,572 USD.

This strange white gold Rolex Submariner prototype recently sold at Christie’s “A Rolex Afternoon” in Geneva for $628,572 USD, making it the most expensive Submariner ever sold publicly. The prototype is from the early 1970s and is one of three samples known to exist. Although the watch doesn’t have a serial number, the unique look is confirmed to be genuine and produced by Rolex’s factory. The watch features a white gold case with a dive bezel with knurling on two opposing sections and an interesting bark finish. The sale of the white gold Rolex Submariner is just the latest in a string of record-breaking Rolex sales.
