What went down at Dior’s anniversary festivities in Tokyo.
As part of Dior‘s 70th anniversary celebrations, the storied French fashion house headed to Tokyo to showcase its latest offerings for both its Haute Couture and Homme lines. April 19 was a night to remember for all its attendants, who were treated to two stunning presentations one after the other, both of which very much contrasting in nature. The first was a graceful display of the women’s line on the rooftop of the newly opened Ginza Six. Models dressed in light frocks, evening gowns, sophisticated blazers and Stephen Jones-designed milliners strutted down the makeshift garden runway course to Daft Punk’s “Veridis Quo.” Shortly following the conclusion of Maria Grazia Chiuri’s show, the crowd began to make its way to the next venue where Kris Van Assche’s latest creations would greet visitors in a much more alluring manner. Rather than opting for movement, the models held static poses in dimly-lit rooms throughout the space for a dark and romantic cinematic experience.
