It’s been three seasons since Patrik Ervell last released a collection, and his Fall/Winter 2017 return is nothing short of modernist brilliance. For this collection’s theme, Ervell was inspired by “the new age and sci-fi infused aesthetic of early U.K. rave scene” and envisioning how its patrons “might have grown into adulthood.” The outcome of this is an approachable collection of garments that demonstrate Ervell’s mastery of well-balanced silhouettes and curated use of color and texture. ’90s motifs are given a fresh, modernist interpretation while Ervell’s attention to utilitarian detail brings in muted influences of workwear. Among the delicately-styled outfits, we see loose-fitting leather pants paired with paneled pullovers, a soft camel color-block mohair jacket coupled with raw indigo denim jeans, clear rain jackets layered beneath and above velvet coats, and cotton-candy pink outerwear numbers in various shapes.
