Leica Releases Video About Oskar Barnack, Father of 35mm Photography
Applications for Leica’s prestigious Oskar Barnack Awards will be accepted soon.
Leica has released a video about Oskar Barnack, the founder and inventor of 35 mm photography. The German optical engineer created the camera as a lighter and more flexible option, considering that equipment at the time was bulky and difficult to handle. Leica is commemorating Barnack as he is the person behind the prestigious Leica Oskar Barnack Awards — an award competition for photographers.
