Over the past few weeks, a rumbling of hype has quickly built into a thumping rhythm surrounding Daft Punk. Firstly, if the ever-reclusive French duo’s 1997’s ‘Daftendirektour’ and 2007 ‘Alive’ tours are anything to go by, fans are about due for a tour announcement. Secondly, the duo will be making its first public appearance since 2014 performing alongside The Weeknd at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards. And now Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter are opening their first-ever brick and mortar pop-up shop inside of a unique West Hollywood space established by Maxfield.

The space itself promises to be equal parts archive and shopping experience: set-pieces, props and wardrobe will sit beside concept artwork, photography and—of course—the group’s signature helmets, as well as never-before-seen artifacts and ephemera.

Daft Punk have always had a penchant for merchandise. Not only did the duo create an entire retro-futuristic ad campaign for its official line, but you can even buy the stately portrait featured in The Weeknd’s “Starboy” music video.

In addition to New Era Hats, Medicom Toys, KWay Jackets, Wham-O Frisbees, Russell Yo-Yo and Fisher Space Pens, the shop will also feature limited-edition pieces of apparel and accessories created with an all-star roster of collaborators, including Virgil Abloh’s OFF-WHITE; Gosha Rubchinskiy; the self-described “elitist, nihilist couturiers” of Enfant Riches Déprimés; the cyberpunk wunderkinds of Darkdron; Hervet Manufacturier’s bold, geometric furniture; and sci-fi jeweler Han Cholo.

The pop-up will be located across the street from Maxfield’s main store at 8818 Melrose Ave., West Hollywood, CA 90069 from February 11-19.

Stay tuned for a schedule of featured designer product drops and announcements.
