Big Sean's New "Halfway Off The Balcony" Video Presents the Story Behind 'I Decided'
“Imagine going through life and you’ve made all the wrong decisions your whole life.”
Following the release of videos for past singles “Bounce Back” and “Moves,” Big Sean digs deeper for the third visual in support of his just-released studio album I Decided. Breaking down the themes at play in the narrative of his latest LP, Big Sean brings the stories of I Decided to life for the new clip in support of “Halfway Off The Balcony.” Explaining the “story” of his 2017 project during a recent Tonight Show sitdown, Big Sean reveals:
“The story of the album is, imagine going through life and you’ve made all the wrong decisions your whole life. You get to the end of your life and you say, ‘God, I did everything wrong. I didn’t work it out with the love of my life. I messed up with my parents. I’m not doing the job I was sent here for. Imagine something happens and you get one chance to redo it all. The album is basically a chance, to have that wisdom of an old man while you’re young, and going through life to figure it out.”
Directed by past collaborator and multi-talented visual artist Andy Hines, the video for “Halfway Off The Balcony” visually interprets the concept of I Decided within just a few minutes of time. You can check out the new visual for “Halfway Off The Balcony” above.
