Virgil Abloh Takes Over Issue 10 of 'System' Magazine
Highlighting the man of the hour.

Two ways to tell if you’ve ascended past the realm of “designer” into “celebrity” — you have a toy with your face on it, and famous photographers shoot you for magazine covers. Virgil Abloh recently accomplished the former, and now attains the latter, with Juergen Teller shooting the Nike collaborator for the cover of System magazine.
In the latest issue, Abloh graces four different covers from varying distances, dubbed “What is Virgil Abloh?” The Off-White™ designer allowed System to follow along his journey around the world, stopping in landmark cities — New York, São Paulo, Los Angeles, Stockholm, Paris, Milan and Amsterdam, meeting up with lumaries like Rem Koolhaas and enjoying a sauna session with photographer Juergen Teller along the way. The issue also takes stock of Abloh’s IKEA collaboration, documented over the span of 66 pages. The issue also features content about Jil Sander and Adwoa Aboah, as the two invite Teller to interview them in their Hamburg and London homes respectively.
Browse through snippets of the issue above, which is available now at stockists like colette and Dover Street Market London and New York. The magazine will be available at global newsstands and press vendors on November 20. For more related news, Abloh just released a lookbook for his Off-White™ pre-fall 2018 collection.
