Design is at the center of the newly reopened Extra Butter boutique which sits at 125 Orchard Street in New York’s Lower East Side. Celebrating the brand’s 10th anniversary, Nubuo Araki, a Japanese designer, makes his American debut by leading the project. Araki brings a modern yet minimal approach to the space, while accommodating its need for adaptable function. Guests can expect to see a few new things — which all carry out the brand’s long-time movie theme — including compartmentalized nooks for the retail area, a cafe concession stand and a two-way projection screen for movie nights complete with old school seating.
Check out the photos above for a closer look at the shop’s revamp. Recently, the shop hosted a Reed Space pop-up for the release of the Nike SB Dunk Low “Black Pigeons” alongside Jeff Staple. Extra Butter is also releasing a collaborative boot with CAT Footwear today.
