A First Look at The General by Vans Store in Williamsburg
“It’s a home for like-minded individuals who are driving culture forward.”

Today, skate label Vans has announced the opening of its new retailer in Brooklyn, New York’s famed Williamsburg neighborhood. The store, accumulating up to 4,750 square feet worth of space, will be stocking the iconic Classics range, limited Vans Vault series, Pro Classics, men’s and women’s apparel and accessories, as well as hard goods from skate brands such as Hockey, Spitfire and ANTIHERO.
The interior will be updated monthly with new artwork illustrated by local talents — starting off with the Vault by Vans Premium Horween Leather Collection for this month. In addition, the space will also be used for shows, movie premieres and other exclusive activations. Apart from the interactive installation set up throughout the minimalist setting, customers can now design their own Vans at the in-store Customs Design Studio.
Chris Keeffe, original founder and creative director of The General remarked on the new location: “This is more than a store. It’s a home for like-minded individuals who are driving culture forward, whether it’s art or skateboarding, whether they’re local or global.”
The General by Vans will officially open its doors on Thursday, October 12. Guests are welcomed to RSVP to attend the grand opening event from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the new store.
