IKEA to Begin Selling Furnishings Through Third-Party Retailers
It’s expected to begin next year.

Ikea will begin selling products online through third-party sites next year. Kaisa Lyckdal, spokeswoman for the Scandinavian home furnishing chain says the trail will begin next year, but that ”no decisions are made regarding what platforms/markets will be in the pilot.”
Lyckdal also stated in an email to The Associated Press that Ikea plans to develop its online sales strategy ”over the coming years.” The course of action is a response to changing shopping patterns. Ikea hasn’t said which websites will be part of the trail, but Amazon and Alibaba are speculated to be likely contenders.
