Prada's 2017 Fall/Winter Collection Goes Retro
The Italian luxury house takes it back to the ’70s.
You’d be forgiven for thinking you’d stepped back in time while checking out Prada’s Fall/Winter 2017 collection. While the beloved Italian luxury house’s Spring/Summer 2017 range mixed decidedly contemporary formal wear with camping gear for a sporty edge, the label’s collection for the latter months of the year serves as a major departure from its predecessor. Casting sleek suiting and technical styles aside, the fall/winter release — unveiled today in Milan — instead opts to update unmistakably ’70s looks for 2017. The results are chock full of mustardy yellow, brown, and burgundy as shearling, oversized collars, pleated trousers and leather outerwear provide a nod to decades past — all with just enough contemporary tailoring and details to keep things fresh.
