Nicholas Daley Spotlights the Rich History of Jute in His 2017 Spring/Summer Collection
The London-based designer reinterprets the traditional material.
Following a robust fall/winter collection, Nicholas Daley continues to explore his multicultural heritage through a new Spring/Summer 2017 collection titled ‘Juteopolis.’ Inspired by his Scottish ancestors’ involvement in Dundee’s industrial jute trade, the London-based designer reinterprets the rich history of jute and gives the traditional material a modern rework. Harmonizing jute with other organic fabrics such as Irish linens and Scottish waxed cottons, the latest collection sees a textually diverse range of garments that can be easily incorporated into any wardrobe. Among the various neutral-toned pieces, noteworthy garments include a British two-tone waxed cotton parka coat, jute pull cord trousers and an organic cotton check tunic jacket with matching shorts. The Nicholas Daley Spring/Summer 2017 collection will be available at Dover Street Market London on January 14.
