It’s been a busy season for designer Haider Ackermann. After showing his eponymous label’s Fall/Winter 2017 collection last week, the Colombian-French designer debuted his first collection for Berluti as the new creative director. This season, the Parisian luxury label illustrates the evolution of conventional menswear styles throughout time. The collection begins with a humble opening of traditional camel and black coats but quickly takes off with vivid hits of gold, blue and purple. Contrasting textures and fabrics build up on finely tailored outerwear silhouettes such as bombers, parkas, blazers and leather jackets, whereas striking plaid prints, metallic textiles and plush velvets infuse some rock ‘n’ roll aesthetics into the sleek collection.
