Tumblr Introduces Live Photos to the Web
Click-and-behold.

First introduced with the launch of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, Live Photos have now hit the web. Somewhere between a still image and a short video, Live Photos capture a series of images 1.5 seconds before and after a photo is taken. Beating Facebook and Google Photos to become the first third-party app to support Live Photos, Tumblr has now become the first to support them on the web. Activated by a simple click-and-hold, Live Photos will soon be available on Android. The Yahoo-owned company has gone as far as sharing its JavaScript library on GitHub and npm in a bid to support developers and eventually make it easier for internet users to share Live Photos found on Tumblr everywhere.
