Fresh from picking up Canada’s Polaris Music Prize for his breakthrough album 99.9% earlier this week, Montreal-based artist Kaytranada has just put out a 90-minute mixtape that displays more of his finessed blend of hip-hop, house and R&B. Called 0.001%, it chops up a typically broad spectrum of samples – including Chance the Rapper and Usher – alongside his own productions. The result? A genre-bending journey that serves as further validation of Tuesday’s impressive victory.
