Infuriated Customer Destroys iPhone 7s at Apple Store in France, Tussles With Security
“Apple is a company that violated European consumers’ rights.”
This past Thursday, an enraged man walked into an Apple store in Dijon, France and began smashing a bevy of iPhones with a metal ball. The unidentified man who sported black sunglasses was caught on camera by one of the customers in the shop and several sources are claiming that he destroyed at least 12 iPhones prior to being stopped by security. Not only did he crush the mobile devices, but he also managed to wreck one laptop computer.
The nameless customer who recorded the man had allegedly asked him why he was wreaking havoc. The man responded: “Apple is a company that violated European consumers’ rights. They refused to reimburse me. I told them: ‘Give me my money back.’ They said no. So you know what is happening? This is happening!“ he yells, before slamming the metal ball on the screen of an iPhone.
Moments later, a security guard can be observed walking towards the man who then immediately exits the shop. The man tries to make an escape, but three security guards catch up to him — wrapping their arms around the man to prevent him from fleeing the scene. According to Uproxx, police arrived and placed the man in custody. An investigation has presumably been opened.
